National Molecular Microbiology Diagnostics User Group (NMG) was formed in 2006 with the primary purpose of enhancing public health and laboratory services by networking and collaboration among clinical molecular diagnostic laboratories.

NMG includes approximately 100 laboratorians using molecular methods for clinical microbiology diagnostics. Members are from hospital, private and public health laboratories from across Canada.

NMG provides leadership in the area of clinical molecular microbiology diagnostics and will strive to develop a proactive network of clinical microbiology laboratories in order to protect the health of Canadians. An improved laboratory “infostructure” related to molecular diagnostics will result in improved infectious disease diagnostics.

One of the most important aspects of NMG is the Annual Conference. This year's (Fourth Annual) conference:

October 18 - 19, 2010
St. Joseph's Healthcare
Hamilton, Ontario
